Civitas (pronounced siv-i-tas), is the Latin word for citizenship, specifically connoting shared responsibility, common purpose and a sense of community. 

As an educational management organization, Civitas Schools is responsible for the following:  

• Design and implementation of an innovative, outcomes-oriented academic model

• Recruitment, training and evaluation of high impact school leaders, teachers and support staff

• Development and refinement of school curricula, assessment cycles and instructional strategies

• Provision of comprehensive educational and counseling services to special needs students

• Facilitation of coaching support and professional development and for all personnel

• Management of external communications (family/community partnerships, media relations)

• Maintenance and management of campus facilities 

• Oversight and support for school finance functions
