Civitas: "Citizenship" (Latin)
Civitas Schools works diligently to create learning communites chacterized by rigorous instruction, relevant curricular design and the forging of strong relationships. Our academic programming and teacher professional development are rooted in the three core principles of focus, accountability and collaboration.
Civitas (pronounced siv-i-tas), is the Latin word for citizenship, specifically connoting shared responsibility, common purpose and a sense of community.
As an educational management organization, Civitas Schools is responsible for the following:
Design and implementation of an innovative, outcomes-oriented academic model
Recruitment, training and evaluation of high impact school leaders, teachers and support staff
Development and refinement of school curricula, assessment cycles and instructional strategies
Provision of comprehensive educational and counseling services to special needs students
Facilitation of coaching support and professional development and for all personnel
Management of external communications (family/community partnerships, media relations)
Maintenance and management of campus facilities
Oversight and support for school finance functions
