Donors & Supporters

Civitas Schools receives a per pupil allocation from the Chicago Public School (CPS) system to educate students enrolled in our schools.

As with other charter schools in Chicago, Civitas Schools receive on average, 82 cents for every dollar given to a traditional public school. In combination with other strict academic accountability measures, Civitas Schools is called upon to provide students with enhanced educational services, longer school day and longer school year – and do it with less money.

Your tax-deductable donation is an investment into the future of our students! Here are some ways your donation could help:

ACT Preparation

• Sponsor a year-long program for the entire Junior Class (costs for one school vs. two schools)
• Provide a one-one one ACT tutor for one student 

College Selection/Visits

• Sponsor a year-long college tour program, including overnight visits to Ivy League Universities
• Sponsor one student to participate in the Historically Black College Tour

Elementary School Enrichment

• Support Martial arts classes for 25 students
• Send an 8th grade student on our Washington DC field trip

Support Math

• Provide graphing calculators for one classroom of high school students
• Send entire sophomore class on field trip to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange

Support Science

• Provide supplies to begin school recycling program
• Provide microscope film and dissection supplies for entire year
• Help students purchase materials to plant a community garden

Support Reading

• Provide books for a middle-school book club
• Provide additional reading support for student via afterschool programming

Support Athletics

• Provide Uniforms for HS Boys or Girls sports team
• Provide equipment for HS Football program
• Provide coaching for elementary school golf team

Support Technology

• Provide student laptops for one classroom

Alumni Support

• Provide college textbooks for a Civitas Schools graduate for 1 college semester

Student Achievement

• Provide honor roll reward t-shirts for 10 students
• Provide entire classroom with honor roll classroom celebration (Elementary)

We are committed to operating our core program on public funding and look to private funders to support enrichment opportunities, implement new initiatives, and supplement significant capital projects.
